La ciutat blava- Chefchaouen -Marroc  The Blue City - Chefchaouen - Morocco

Chefchaouen està situada a les muntanyes del Rif , just a l'interior de Tànger i Tetuan . La ciutat va ser fundada el 1471, com una petita fortalesa que encara existeix a dia d'avui, per Moulay Ali Ben Moussa Ben Rached El Alami (un descendent de Ibn Machich i Idris I , i a través d'ells, del profeta islàmic Mahoma ) per lluitar contra els portuguesos invasions del nord del Marroc.  Juntament amb els Ghomara tribus de la regió, molts moriscos i jueus es van establir aquí després de la Reconquesta espanyola en l'època medieval. Al 1920, el espanyol es va apoderar de Chefchaouen per formar part del espanyol Marroc . Tropes espanyoles van empresonar Abd el-Krim a la kasbah 1916-1917, . Després de derrotar Abd el-Krim amb l'ajuda dels francesos, Abd el-Krim va ser deportat a l'illa de Reunió en 1926.
Chefchaouen o Chaouen, com se l'anomena sovint pels marroquins, és propera a Tànger i l'enclavament espanyol de Ceuta . El nom fa referència a la forma dels cims de les muntanyes per sobre de la ciutat, que s'assemblen als dos banyes ( chaoua ) d'una cabra. " Xef Chaouen "deriva de la paraula berber de banyes, Ichawen.  Una distinció que posseeix Chefchaouen és les seves cases i edificis de color blau-esbandit.

Chefchaouen is located in the Rif Mountains, just inland from Tangier and Tetouan. The city was founded in 1471 as a small fortress which still exists today, by Moulay Ali Ben Moussa Ben Rached El Alami (Machich and a descendant of Ibn Idris, and through them, the Islamic prophet Muhammad ) to fight against the Portuguese invasions of northern Morocco. Along with Ghomara tribes of the region, many Moors and Jews settled here after the Spanish Reconquista in medieval times. In 1920, the Spanish seized Chefchaouen to form part of Spanish Morocco. Spanish troops imprisoned Abd el-Krim in the kasbah 1916-1917,. After defeating Abd el-Krim with the help of the French, Abd el-Krim was deported to the island of Reunion in 1926. Chefchaouen or Chefchaouen, as it is often called by Moroccans, is close to Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The name refers to the shape of the mountain peaks above the city, which look like two horns (Chefchaouen) of a goat. "Chefchaouen Chef" is derived from the Berber word horns, Ichawen. Chefchaouen is a distinction that has its houses and buildings blue-rinsed.
