 L'illa d'Skye (An t-Eilean Sgitheanach, pronuncieu [əɲ tʰʲelan s̪kʲiə.anəx], en gaèlic) és l'illa més gran i la més septentrional de les Hèbrides Interiors, al nord-oest d'Escòcia. Es troba al Mar de les Hèbrides.
 La indòmita bellesa de l'illa de Skye és coneguda des de l'època victoriana, quan els primers alpinistes europeus van arribar fins aquí per explorar les seves valls salvatges i les seves muntanyes.  Unida a terra ferma per un llarguíssim pont arquejat, aquesta meravellosa illa té molta varietat  de paisatges i es un dels racons d'Escòcia en què es custodia i transmet la cultura i l'idioma gaèlics.

 The island of Skye (An t-Eilean Sgitheanach, pronounced [əɲ tʰʲelan s̪kʲiə.anəx] in Gaelic) is the largest island and the northernmost of the Inner Hebrides, north-west of Scotland. It is in the Sea of the Hebrides.   The untamed beauty of the Isle of Skye is known since the Victorian era, when the first Europeans arrived here climbers to explore the wild valleys and mountains. Linked to the mainland by a very long arched bridge, this beautiful island has a wide variety of landscapes and is one of the places in Scotland which safeguards and transmits Gaelic culture and language.
